Macy’s is Hiring for the Holidays!

Join our holiday team and help us bring the magic of Macy’s to life this holiday season! Macy’s has thousands of opportunities for shining stars to brighten the holidays - whether you’re working to pay your college tuition, stay active and involved, or want to earn extra money to brighten the holiday season, apply today for a great seasonal job!

Seasonal associates at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s serve customers on the selling floor, work in store operations, interact with customers via the telephone in call centers, and staff the distribution and fulfillment centers that coordinate shipments to stores and directly to customers who buy online.

Most of the positions are part-time, often with flexibility to fit your availability. Many positions require working evenings, weekends, or even overnight.

A seasonal position is a great way to explore retail as a career option, and learn about the business. Many of our regular employees start in a seasonal or other temporary position; as opportunities become available, we initially look internally to fill those openings. If you express an interest in continuing your employment, you would be among the first considered, based on your performance.

More about holiday jobs at Macy’s

  • What are the advantages?

Macy’s offers competitive hourly wages, a flexible scheduling system to allow balance between work and personal needs, and a generous associate discount. But it’s more than the opportunity to earn extra money during the holidays or save on gifts. It’s an opportunity to work in a positive, inclusive environment that fosters the Macy’s culture of teamwork.

  • What kinds of holiday jobs are available?

Most people immediately think of our store locations when they think of the holidays. While many of our holiday positions are in our stores, we do offer other seasonal opportunities including warehouse positions in our direct-to-consumer fulfillment centers, servers and staff for our restaurants, and associates to answer customers’ credit and service questions at our call centers.

  • What makes a great holiday associate?

Specific requirements differ based on position, but in all seasonal roles, Macy’s looks for enthusiastic, outgoing individuals who are able to connect and engage customers and coworkers. Because we have extended hours during the holiday season to accommodate our shoppers, being flexible to work a variety of hours and days including early mornings, late evenings, and even overnight is helpful.

  • Can a holiday job lead to a regular position?

A seasonal position is a great way to learn about retail, and many of our associates began their careers with Macy’s as temporary holiday associates. The size and scope of the Macy’s organization means that you have many opportunities for personal and professional growth based in part on your teamwork and performance during your temporary seasonal assignment.
